Leapin’ Lemurs® Baked Apples

Warm up your family for the Autumn season with these Leapin' Lemurs baked apple treats.

Ingredients

  • 4 Empire apples
  • 1 cup (250 mL) EnviroKidz Leapin' Lemurs Cereal
  • 1/4 cup (60 mL) chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup (60 mL) honey
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp (1 mL) ground nutmeg
 

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Using melon baller, scoop out apple cores to create 1-inch (2.5 cm) wide cavity in centre of each apple.
  2. Place apples on parchment paper–lined baking sheet.
  3. Combine Leapin’ Lemurs® cereal, walnuts, honey, cinnamon and nutmeg; fill apples with mixture.
  4. Cover loosely with foil; bake for 15 minutes.
  5. Remove foil and continue baking for 10 minutes or until apples are tender and cereal mixture is golden brown.
