For more than a decade, Nature’s Path has been giving back to communities across North America by providing healthy, organic food for those who need it most through our annual Eat Well Do Good foodraisers. Now, with families and individuals around the world deeply affected by the COVID-19 crisis, food insecurity is a growing reality in all of our communities, especially for children. 41% of mothers with children under the age of 12 in the United States reported household food insecurity since the onset of COVID-19.
That is why this year, we’ve more than doubled our annual donation commitment, pledging to donate the equivalent of one million bowls of food to hungry children and their families in the US and Canada. In honor of our first 10 years of Eat Well Do Good, we will be working with 10 organizations across North America, and in addition to this pledge, we will also match every dollar donated to any of our partners through Eat Well Do Good with an additional $5 worth of organic food.

The Impact of COVID-19
Children and families need support now more than ever. Over 13 million children in the United States deal with food insecurity on a daily basis, and now school meals are no longer accessible for students who rely on such programs for their daily nutritional needs. As the impact of this crisis continues to be felt across all of our communities, more families across North America are being faced with the challenge of not only providing childcare and schooling, but with having enough food on the table and in their pantries at home.

As a family-owned company, we believe that we’re raising the world’s next generation of leaders and change-makers. That’s why in 2019, we decided to focus our Eat Well Do Good efforts on nourishing kids with the essential nutrition they need to do well at school and at home.
Every dollar raised through Eat Well Do Good will put 5-12 times more food and household essentials in the hands of our most vulnerable.
How are organizations chosen for the Eat Well Do Good program?
Nature’s Path has a long legacy of giving back to our communities. We have worked in partnership with each of these organizations to support families and individuals in need with healthy, organic food for years, and in some cases, for decades. Will I get a receipt for my donation?
Once you provide the information needed for your tax receipt, we’ll forward it to the charity you’ve supported. Some of these charities will use our system to send you a tax receipt. In this case, you’ll receive it about 45 minutes after you finish your contribution. Other charities are using their own systems to send the tax receipts. These may take a few days to process.
Will the charity receive 100% of my donation?
Yes, Nature’s Path does not charge any service or processing fees so that your donation will go entirely to the charity of your choice (as well as $5 worth of organic Nature’s Path products for every $1 you donate!). You will also be provided the option to cover the payment processing fees charged by PayPal, Stripe or WePay (usually 1.5 – 3%) on behalf of the charity upon checkout so that your contribution can make an even greater impact.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes! All of the charities we support are registered with the appropriate regulatory authorities and are authorized to issue tax receipts for your contribution.
Will my donation be used wisely?
Your donation will directly support the ongoing operations of our partners as they respond and adapt to the growing need for community assistance. Every organization is faced with unique challenges at this time, including decreased volunteer availability due to shelter-in-place orders, accessibility to food products and household essentials, logistical challenges due to physical distancing protocols, or all of the above. How do I make a donation?
Simply click on the Contribute button on the partner pages above and you’ll be guided through the process of providing your information needed to issue you a tax receipt and to process your donation payment.
Is my online donation secure?
Your online payment details are processed by payment processing services like PayPal or Stripe. None of your payment details such as your credit card number are stored on our systems. These services process billions of dollars of transactions per year and provide the highest levels of donor data protections. As well, all of your data is transmitted to our systems over encrypted communications to prevent tampering with or collecting information “in transit”.
How is it possible to buy up to $12 of food with a $1 donation?
Because many of our partners, especially food banks, purchase large quantities of food essentials in bulk or at high volumes to serve our communities on a regular basis, they are often able to purchase food items at wholesale prices, at cost, or with volume discounts. Depending on the scale and scope of an organization’s operations, this buying power can range anywhere from 2 to 7 times what an individual might be able to purchase at a grocery store. In addition to this buying power, Nature’s Path has pledged to donate $5 worth of food for every $1 raised through this fundraiser. If you were interested in donating to Feed the Children, their existing buying power of 7:1 coupled with our 5:1 donation pledge means that they’ll be able to receive $12 worth of food for every dollar raised through Eat Well Do Good.

How are food banks impacted by COVID-19?
In the United States alone, it’s estimated that up to 47 million job losses could result from the economic impact of COVID-19, while 67 million Americans are working in jobs that are at a high risk of layoff. With more and more people becoming impacted financially by this pandemic, there will continue to be a growing dependence among the general population in both the US and Canada on essential food bank services and resources. With the additional challenge of school closures, families across North America are struggling to also provide childcare, home-schooling, and in some cases, elder care as well as working from home to make ends meet. The demand on social support services like food banks has never been greater, and we feel passionately about increasing support for all of our essential partners at this vital time. Additionally, food banks have already seen drastic declines in volunteer numbers, inventory shortages and fulfilment challenges, and difficulty securing financial and administrative support.
As Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on April 3rd, “Many Canadians rely on food banks and local food organizations to feed their families and find support in hard times. Now with more Canadians turning to these supports, and donations and available volunteers decreasing, they need our help more than ever.”
