Dear Nature’s Path community,
These are very unsettling times and our thoughts and actions are with those impacted by the current COVID-19 outbreak. We extend our deepest gratitude to all the medical personnel around the world who are working tirelessly and with sacrifice to tend to those affected and those researching a vaccine.
At Nature’s Path, the well-being of our customers, our team, and our planet is at the forefront of everything we do. As we see images of empty store shelves, we want to reassure everyone that Nature’s Path is doing everything possible to increase production and widely make available healthy, organic and nutritious food. This is an important responsibility and one we take to heart. It is our higher purpose and in line with our vision to “Always leave the earth better than we found it”.
Giving back and caring for communities is important for us all at Nature’s Path so we are immediately directing thousands of cases of organic products to organizations
supporting children and the elderly most in need during these difficult times.

Does Nature's Path use only organic ingredients?
Nature’s Path, EnviroKidz, Love Crunch and Qi’a brands only use ingredients as allowed by the National Organic Standards. The standards have a few exceptions where it allows for some non organic ingredients (only up to 5%) for specific reasons.
- Ingredients that cannot be certified organic (for instance mined substances like those used in baking soda) Note that organic certification is only available for agriculturally produced ingredients.
- If an agricultural ingredient is not yet commercially available in certified organic form, it can only be used if it has been evaluated and is listed on the National List.
Both categories have to be on the National List. This list is very limited and only allows products that have not yet been able to be produced in organic form and they also cannot contain any other prohibited materials such as harsh solvents or irradiation, GMOs or grown in sewage sludge etc. Nature’s Path avoids using anything even from the National list whenever possible, however some of our products have some allowed colors or flavors that are not certified organic and that are on the National list.
We work with many of our suppliers to help convert conventional ingredients to organic as quickly as possible. We look forward to the day when everything is available in organic form.
Where can I find your products?
For our American consumers, please follow this link to our store locator tool. Type in your zip and select the product you are looking for before clicking on search. If our locator does not pull up a retailer, there may still be independent organic food stores in your area who carry our product or can order it in through their distributor (they just don’t have an account directly with us). We also offer our products from our online webstore. Just browse or search the product you are looking for and if it is available from our webstore there will be a section where you can add it to your cart (it can’t be missed). Some products may not be available.
For our Canadian consumers, a selection of our products are available at most major grocery stores ( https://www.naturespath.com/en-ca/find-a-store/ ) . If you are unable to find a specific product, you may be able to ask an independent organic grocer to order it for your from their distributor.
Is your packaging recyclable or compostable?
The resealable bags used for the granola are not recyclable as they are made from composite plastic that uses a range of different plastic types. As these bags are durable, we recommend reusing them for storing other items. The opaque plastic used for the cereal bag liners, Ecopacs and puffed cereals is a #2 plastic that is made in Canada. It can be recycled depending on your local recycling rules or some stores will take them in their shopping bag return-it bins.
We are diligently working with organic industry companies to develop a 100% recyclable, compostable plastic film made from non-genetically modified plant cellulose– possibly wood – that does have the necessary oxygen and moisture barrier qualities. By combining our purchasing power, our goal is to bring down the cost of this biodegradable packaging material to an acceptable level. There is no suitable packaging substitute for our products which is made from a non-genetically modified plant base in the market as yet.
Our cardboard containers are also recyclable & are 100% recycled paperboard and 55% post-consumer content. We use plant based ink for the packaging print, making the boxes also compostable. All the paperboard used for our cereal boxes is now FSC certified.
Is your product gluten free?
Any product that has been tested to make sure it contains less than 20 parts per million in gluten will be clearly labeled gluten free. Any product that has been tested to make sure it contains less than 10 parts per million in gluten will be Gluten Free Certified and clearly labeled with the GFCO logo ( https://gfco.org/ ).
How are allergens handled?
North American Government Regulators have advised us that because we utilize allergens in some of our facilities we are strongly recommended to print a disclaimer underneath the ingredients listing. In the United States, the warning statement ‘Produced in a facility that uses …(for example: peanuts, tree nuts, dairy or soy)” and in Canada, the warning statement ‘May contain …(for example: peanuts, tree nuts, dairy or soy)’ is printed on Nature’s Path products made in those factories. Government regulator opinion is that if there is a remote chance of cross contamination that the consumer should be advised of this possibility. These allergens are not indicated in the warning statement if they are already listed as an ingredient of the product.
At Nature’s Path we have an extensive planning and cleaning schedule -which includes protein testing- for all our production facilities in order to prevent any cross contamination of our products with non-declared ingredients. All of our products that do not contain any of the top eight allergens– as listed on the ingredient label are theoretically free from them. However because of the remote chance of contamination in the plant we cannot imply that there is no possibility of minute amounts of these allergens in our products.
After handling any product that contains allergens, we do a full allergen clean-up on the production lines. We use various cleaning methods such as rinsing, hot scrubber machines, vacuums and organic compliant cleaning solution followed by protein tests on the equipment. Cleaning is supervised and checked off by our Quality Assurance team.
No matter how small the chance, we feel it is our obligation to inform customers of this possibility. Our main concern is the health risk to any of our customers who may have a life-threatening allergy. We feel that consumers must make the final choice in consultation with their healthcare provider about eating Nature’s Path products.
Where is the product made?
Our main facilities are in Blaine, Washington and Sussex, Wisconsin. All of our products are produced and packaged in the U.S.A. or in Canada.
Where do we source our ingredients?
Nature’s Path Foods Inc. purchases from United States and Canadian Suppliers and internationally from recognized third-party certified organic suppliers. The ingredients that we source from outside of North America aren’t currently available in the quantity and/or quality that we require from within the continent.
Nature’s Path only buys ingredients from suppliers who meet the strict quality control standards set by U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and National Organic Program (NOP) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Nature’s Path’s facilities are recognized in the USA by the Food and Drug Administration and in Canada by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. We work closely with ALL our food suppliers to ensure that food safety standards are strictly adhered to. Nature’s Path does not currently purchase any products internationally that would require “product of…” labeling. In the form these ingredients are purchased, they are labeled as “product of USA” or “product of Canada” as they have been further processed in North American facilities where compliance with food safety standards is tested and confirmed.
Foreign sourced ingredients undergo the same rigorous organic, food safety and quality certification requirements as products from other countries. Extensive analysis led us to the conclusion that these ingredients are the highest quality available in the world.
