Posted under  Culture & Lifestyle, Food & Health, Nature's Path on
Who doesn’t love potlucks? When friends come together to share food, only good things can happen. Potlucks are a good way to plan a large gathering without all the high costs or the stress of hosting one yourself. It can also be tons of fun organizing a themed potluck like a Mexican fiesta or breakfast for dinner. Undoubtedly, one of the most popular dishes at a potluck are desserts. Here are some of my favorite delicious desserts to bring to a potluck:

Dessert Hummus

I know this might sound weird if you haven’t tried it yet, but I promise dessert hummus is delicious. The taste of the chickpeas or garbanzo beans is so mild that you can add all sorts of sweet flavors. It makes a great dipping sauce for fruit, pretzels or sweet chips. Try this snickerdoodle hummus, brownie hummus, and cake batter hummus.

Cake

When you think about it, cake is a centerpiece for many of our celebrations, birthdays, religious holidays, weddings, and anniversaries. A good cake can bring people together and be the centerpiece of any banquet. Bringing a cake to a potluck is sure to be a hit. Try this Vanilla Berry Cake, Carrot Cake, and Decadent Chocolate Cake.

Cookie Dough

Also, a great dessert to share with friends. You can eat by the spoonful or dip your favorite fruit in it. When making cookie dough remember to toast your flour in the oven at 350°F for 5 minutes to kill off any possible lingering bacteria that might make you sick. After this, you can eat as much cookie dough as your heart pleases! Try this chocolate chip cookie dough or pumpkin cookie dough.

Cookies

Cookies are the perfect dessert to bring to a potluck and are easy to make or buy! Plus you can get creative with them as well and make something like an ice cream sandwiche or cookie cake. I find that a good chocolate chip cookie is a crowd favorite, but depending on the season, you can go with a gingerbread cookie or snickerdoodle.

Ice Cream

What could complement cake better than ice cream? This is an easy treat to bring to a party. You can create a sundae bar and bring toppings like sprinkles, chocolate chips, fruit, and ice cream cones. You can get creative and make the ice cream yourself like this Coffee and Chocolate Chip Ice Cream, Apple Pie Ice Cream, or Pistachio Ice Cream, or you can buy a dairy free option like Nadamoo, Ben & Jerries, Haagen Daz.
