My question is, if I eat this, then take a drug test, will I pass?

Hi there and thanks for

Hi there and thanks for taking the time to ask us this. We get this question a lot, but rest assured our hemp products won’t make you fail a drug test. Allow me to explain… Hulled hemp seed is not to be confused with marijuana. Hemp & marijuana come from 2 different types of plants. We have had our hemp products tested by two independent labs to determine the level of THC in the food. Both labs are able to test down to one part per million and report finding no detectable THC. So to be absolutely clear, eating hulled hemp seeds does not lead to intoxication or a positive drug test. True, all hemp plants have delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) but the residual level in hulled hempseeds used for food is extremely miniscule — usually measured in 1 or 2 parts per million. Take care, Justine, Nature’s Path Team

Hi Justin and thanks for asking us this— a fair question! The hemp seeds have been dehulled and therefore will not grow if planted. All the best, Justine, Nature’s Path Team

Depending on your location,

Depending on your location, viable hemp seeds may or may not be legal.  In the United States, for instance, hemp seeds are required to be sterilized [Title 21 (Food and Drugs) of the U.S. Code, Chapter 13 (Drug Abuse Prevention and Control), Section 802 (16)]. I wouldn’t imagine Nature’s Path making different “versions” of its cereal depending upon the different hemp laws, so it’s likely all sterile, and will not grow.

No there are no drug effects

No there are no drug effects in hemp seeds. There is no thc in hemp seeds. You can eat Hemp Plus until your stomach hurts and you will not test positive on any drug test. Personally, I can’t believe this question was asked. Its amazing how much our Government has brain washed people into thinking Marijuana or hemp seeds are bad for you. I think they should just stick to alcohol testing at oil rigs. Alcohol is a far, far more dangerous drug than all illegal drugs combined.

Hi Ally & Luke’s Mom! Thanks

Hi Ally & Luke’s Mom! Thanks for reaching out to us. You’ve asked some really great questions. First of all, kids can totally eat this cereal. Rest assured, this granola includes hulled hemp seed which is not psychoactive and is not to be confused with marijuana. In fact, hemp & marijuana come from 2 different types of plants. Just to be certain, we have had our hemp products tested by two independent labs and we are confident in saying our foods will NOT cause involuntary intoxication. As for your second question, there are tons of nutritional benefits to hemp: it is very nutritious with up to 35% protein & all 9 essential amino acids. They are high in unsaturated fats – the good fats – including the omega-3 fatty acids. They also contain a wide variety of vitamins & minerals. Hope that answers your questions. All the best, Justine, Nature’s Path Team

Hi Paparull and thanks for getting in touch with us. De-hulled hempseed which we use in this product is not to be confused with marijuana. Hemp & marihuana come from 2 different types of plants. For what it’s worth, almost everything you typed here is wrong. While it’s true that the seeds do not contain THC, every other part of the Marijuana/Hemp plant does contain THC at varying concentrations. And the seeds are the fruit that comes from the flower of the female plant. Male plants do not produce fruit. Ever.

While it’s true the hemp

While it’s true the hemp plant may contain thc, it’s like O’doul’s containing alcohol. It’s so watered down that the small amount doesn’t trigger my allergic effect (recovered alcoholic here), it also doesn’t trigger any type of a buzz. I call it barley pop. The important part here though is the seeds which are legally being sold are in accordance with the law. The same propagandists who have demonized this plant with fear tactics say it’s perfectly okay to sell this product for consumption and they don’t even place any age restrictions on it. There is more alcohol in food extract or your favorite brand of mouthwash then O’doul’s, but there are age restrictions for purchasing n.a. beer because it’s for direct consumption. In all honesty; as someone who has been to outpatient counseling for drug abuse, detox, rehab, probation, house arrest, and aa, I can tell you even the super high potent medical grade Cail buds which are loaded with thc are a much safer drug then alcohol. Alcohol is the only drug whose withdrawals can kill you; same chemical build up on the brain as found in heroin addicts, you can quit for 50 years but the day you pick one up you begin right where you left off as the chemical buildup never diminishes and the bigger the build up, the farther along the addiction. It’s the easiest thing I’ve ever quit. Also, pot is not a gateway…. the fact people have to obtain it through shady back alley dealers who also offer a variety of other products is the gateway.

Hi Brittany and thanks for

Hi Brittany and thanks for reaching out to us with your question. This is not a gluten-free granola due to the oats. The issue lies within the risk of cross-contamination with gluten which would most likely happen in the fields or during the milling process. At this time in North America, there isn’t a sufficient supply of organic gluten-free oats. Therefore, I can’t recommend this granola to you if you’re gluten-free. I am learning about

I am learning about Genetically Modified Foods, and am aware that not all Organic products come with the guarantee that they do not contain GMO’s. Can you verify Hemp Plus contains NO Genetically Modified Food?

Hi Melissa and thanks so much

Hi Melissa and thanks so much for reaching out to us! This granola doesn’t contain any genetically modified ingredients. All Nature’s Path products bear the Non-GMO Project Verified Seal which means that our products are the best choice in order to avoid genetically modified organisms (GMOs). To find out more about the Non-GMO Project, please click here: http://www.nongmoproject.org/. We completely understand your confusion Melissa, it is when a product states that it is “natural” that it can actually contain genetically modified ingredients. If you are aiming to buy non-GMO products, ensure it is organic and bears the Non-GMO Project Verification Seal. For more information on organics, click here: http://www.naturespath.com/eat-well/organics. Take care Melissa! Jamie, Nature’s Path Team

Hi there and thanks so much for taking the time to get in touch with us! Our cardboard boxes aren’t made with hemp specifically, but they are recyclable & used with 100% recycled paperboard with 55% post consumer content. The ink on the packaging is plant based which also makes the packaging compostable. You’ll be happy to know that our packaging doesn’t contain BPAs, synthetic fungicides, preservatives and/ or fumigants, Bisphenol A, Phalates, Methyl Napthalene and/or any of their derivatives including dibutyl phthalate (DIBP), and we do not use BHT as a preservative in either our products or our packaging.
