I bought a box of this stuff and the raisins almost split my tooth How long does it sit around the warehouse? My son plunked them into the sink. Said he likes the flakes, but the raisins turned him off! Can’t you just sell the flakes?

I had the hankering for

I had the hankering for cereal one day whilst strolling the aisles of Trader Joes in Millbrae, CA. You know, that kind of “I need comfort food” and it better be good for me feeling. Well, that was about 6 months ago and I now keep a constant supply of two boxes on top of the fridge. It would be a tragedy to find myself jonesing for a bowl of your excellent cereal late at night and discover that I had none. I’m a nighttime cereal eater - I’d rather eat a bowl of Flax Plus Raisin Bran than a bowl of ice cream. I’d rather eat a bowl of Flax Plus Raisin Bran than eat a piece of chocolate. I’d rather eat a bowl of Flax Plus Raisin Bran than drink a glass of red wine. I’d rather eat a bowl of Flax Plus Raisin Bran than dinner. Congratulations on making the most satisfying bowl of food I have probably ever eaten. Cheers and thank you for the good works that you do, Susan

Ah hah, I noticed that the fiber amount changed when the switch to orgainic was made. Unfortunately, this cereal has recently disappeared from Vons and Trader Joes and Jonathans and Bristol Farms / Safeway in recent months. Most unfortunate.

A search for retailers did NOT include Trader Joe’s in Sunnyvale, CA. It’s a good bet that the prices for your products there will be less than at whole paycheck aka Hole Foods or Safeway. I tried the Organic Flax Plus Raisin Bran ONCE and now I’m hooked. Should have know though. That’s often the cause with items purchased from Trader Joe’s. Keep up the good work. I agree! The 11 grams is why I purchased the cereal in the first place, now it is 8 grams and I have to look elsewhere for my daily fiber intake.

I agree with everyone’s comments. It was great to get the 11 grams of fiber in a great tasting cereal. So, why change it? Unless it was supposed to be 8 grams initially and listed incorrectly? Also, the raisins SHOULD be improved. They are not very big and usually on the hard side. Bring back the 11 grams of fiber!

Great question, but unfortunately we don’t measure the folate in our cereals. Best, Kylie, Brand Ambassador, Panda Puffs Addict

Why is there less fiber in

Why is there less fiber in each serving now? It tasted amazing at 11g of fiber now it only has 8. That is not enough to help meet my daily needs. I will need to switch to a higher fiber cereal.

I agree completely. I just sent the following: (Though I thought it had been changed to 8 g I was wrong it seens to be 8g, even worse. It was great at 11g I have been eating your flax/raisin bran cereal for a long time. The question is… It used to have 11 grams of fiber, now it has nine. Occasionally I can find a store with the 11 gram batches. What is up with that? I have asked Whole foods to look into it as well, and there has never been an answer forthcoming. It would be great to be able to find the 11 gram cereal. PS. There is also a randomness to the amount of raisins in each package. Some have a lot, and I have also had a box with maybe 3 raisins in the entire box. The raisins themselves range from typical raisin dryness and consistency, to tiny in size, and rock hard. I have tried switching to other cereals (other brands) but I prefer the taste and crisp consistency of the flakes in yours. Anyway, I would really appreciate it if I could get my 11 gram raisin bran/flax breakfast cereal again. Just doesn’t seem fair that I find the perfect breakfast cereal and then it changes. Please let me know.

Deceptive Advertising. You have reduced the fiber content per serving from 11g to 8g while simultaneously adding a “high fiber” label to the packaging. While the label may be technically correct, your attempt to mislead has cost you a customer.

I’m so sorry you got the impression that we were trying to mislead you. We absolutely were not. The fiber on our cereal changes not because of a recipe change but because it’s organic. Let me explain; as we only use organic ingredients the nutrition fluctuates depending on the crop (and things like climate and crop conditions). We re-test yearly to ensure the nutrition panels are accurate. We added the high fiber label because cereal with over 5 grams of fiber is considered high fiber and at 8 grams we meet the criteria for this claim. Hope this explanation helps!
