Love this cereal! Raisins are chewy for sure, but I haven’t experienced tooth cracking hardness at all. Maybe the raisins could be packaged separately so they wouldn’t dry out so much? Although I’m sure people would find something to complain about that anyway!

Thanks Steven, we love organics too! From time to time we offer coupons in association with community events and in-store promotions; however, we try to limit the not so environmentally friendly mass mail-outs of paper coupons. That’s why I’m really pleased to tell you that we’re looking to roll out online coupons later this year :) Best, Kyla, Nature’s Path Brand Ambassador, Gorilla Munch Addict

Nature’s Path is my first attempt at Organic breakfast cereal (I usually have a bowl of Cheerios every morning). I came out to the website to look at comments and the first one nailed it: the raisins are hard and the bag is hard to open. Otherwise it’s pretty good.
But, I’m not giving up and I’ll try some other varieties (maybe some without raisins).

First of all, congrats on trying organic cereals! We bet you don’t go back! Second we’re sorry you didn’t like our raisins and rest assured that we’re coming out with an easier to open bag. May I suggest you try the Flax Plus Maple Pecan cereal? It’s one of my favs.

Hi there, thanks for taking the time to write us. We’re sorry to hear that you find our raisins so hard. We promise that we are in the processes of reviewing this. You see, high fiber cereals tend to take moisture out of the raisins, and while other companies use chemicals to solve this problem (like sulfur dioxide) we don’t. Our organic raisins are naturally chewy & will also vary in moisture depending on the quality of the growing season’s crop. September to October is the yearly grape harvest season so you may also be experiencing end of season raisins.
Remember, it’s also helpful to check the expiration date on the Box Top and purchase cereal with the longest time to the cereal expiry date. It is also best to keep the bag closed with a twist tie to keep the cereal fresher if you do not plan to eat the cereal immediately. Most organic cereals have about a 1 - 2 month life once they have been opened and exposed to air as they do not contain preservatives.

I like the cereal; however, the extremely hard raisins will keep you from enjoying your bowl of cereal. I’ve now gotten to point of sorting the raisins out of box. Natures Path - please figure out a way of packaging organic soft raisins!

I too have had issues with the unpopular rock hard raisins, but understand the issue is nearly impossible to corrrect without the pollution of preservatives. I have, however found a way to purchase boxes that are more likely to have soft raisins by purchasing the cereal from places other than a regular grocery store, where organic foods are less popular and thus sit on the shelves for longer periods of time. I instead go to places like Trader Joe’s.

Hello Jenn Glenn, thank you for taking the time to write us. Your suggestion about finding “softer raisins” is a good one. Also, because our products are organic it’s always important to check the expiration date on the box to make sure that the cereal is as fresh as possible. Thanks so much for your comment. We’re really sorry to hear that you found the raisins in our cereal to be so hard. We’re taking this issue seriously and looking into it.
Unfortunately, high fiber cereals tend to extract the moisture out of raisins. While other cereal companies use chemical ingredients to help keep raisins soft, as an organic company we do not use preservatives. Our organic raisins tend to be naturally chewy & will also vary in moisture depending on the quality of the growing season’s crop. It might also help to check the freshness code date engraved on the Box Top, as some of the raisins tend to get harder close to the cereal expiry date. It’s also best to keep the bag closed with a twist tie to keep the cereal fresher if you do not plan to eat the cereal immediately. If you still don’t like our raisins try Nature’s Path Flax Plus Multibran with the same flakes used in the Pumpkin Raisin Crunch Cereal http://www.naturespath.com/products/vegetarian/flax-plus-flakes
Also, mail in the box top or package expiry date flap to the address on the box if you’d like to receive a coupon for a free product to replace the cereal you purchased as a thank you for your time and effort to communicate your thoughts with us. Please use reference #ERH- 09, attention Nicolette.

The cereal is good but I have bought 3 boxes and all of the raisins are as hard as rocks. My husband eats other raisin cereals and the raisins are soft and moist. The people in product development should try to soften up the raisins or just lose them from the cereal. ~ Trenda

Just purchased my 3rd or 4th box of this. Have always loved it, but this last box is different. Raisins ARE SO HARD!!!! Maybe its just a bad batch, or was stored in a hot place, or is too old (exp date is still good). Try a new box and watch the expiration date, make sure it is not too close. I like the idea of putting the raisins in seperately!
