Hi there and thanks for sharing! We’re all about honesty and transparency and we’re not fans of censoring people’s comments. Afterall, it’s not just the good comments that make us better. If anything, the “constructive criticism” is equally important to hear (if not more important). Hi Rachael and thanks for getting in touch with us. The citric acid in these toaster pastries are derived from a plant source and is non allergenic (the exact compound is considered proprietary information). Rest assured, our toaster pastries don’t contain soy ingredients. Happy munching, Justine, Nature’s Path Team.

I too would love to see lower sugar toaster pastries as I am diabetic, and the Pop Tarts have one flavor(Strawberry Milkshake) which only has 11 sugars as compared to those which have 17 sugars and above.

Hi Gudrun and thanks for your comment. All our product are organic which means they don’t contain artificial preservatives, additives or genetically modified organisms and the ingredients are not grown with toxic pesticides, chemical fertilizers or fumigants. If you are like us Gudrun and organic foods are very important to you, then I recommend having half of a toaster pastry rather than a whole one which will cut down on your sugar intake. We also suggest consulting your medical practitioner or naturopath who will recommend certain products for you since you are diabetic. Take care, Jamie, Nature’s Path Team

I just wanted to say how much I enjoy your products. (Especially these toaster pastries!) I have the self control to eat just one at a time & bag the other for a later date. These are super delicious, and the taste & texture is insurmountable. You can tell the difference because they don’t stick to your teeth and put you into a sugar coma like the Pop-Tart brand of pastries. Don’t let the haters get to you, these treats are DELICIOUS & have been helpful in my journey to Organic eating!

If you could please possibly make these Poptarts with potato starch instead of corn starch and without dextrose and substitute it with agava. My daughter is highly allergic to all corn by products! Not too many ORGANIC companies are aware that corn is fattener and are part of the obesity problem of having corn in all our products!

Thank you for your amazing comments Nicole. We are so glad to hear that you’re taking a deeper interest in your health and eating organic. Organic means that they don’t contain artificial preservatives, additives or GMOs and the ingredients aren’t grown with toxic pesticides, chemical fertilizers or fumigants. We like to help people keep their bodies clean on the inside! All the best Nicole, Jamie, Nature’s Path Team

Why this product, although full of “organic” ingredients, is still NOT GOOD FOR YOU! 1 There are 4 different kinds of sugar in this product. It’s mostly sugar. “Organic” Invert Cane Juice, evaporated cane juice, dextrose, honey and molasses. There’s 2 different flavors added, “organic cherry” and “organic vanilla flavor”, tell me does anyone know what’s in these “organic” flavors? We are to assume they aren’t toxic but of course we are left to assume such things since the information is not provided for us to determine for ourselves. There is “whey protein concentrate (milk)” NOT ORGANIC, Monocalcium phosphate, which is obtained from inorganic sources and has residues of arsenic, lead, Cadmium, Fluorine and Mercury in it and is known to cause a host of problems. Yummy Natures Path glad you’re looking out for people!

Thanks for taking a deeper interest in your health and getting in touch with us. The purpose of this product is to provide consumers with a healthier alternative to other options on the market. These toaster pastries are organic which means they don’t contain artificial preservatives, additives or genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and the ingredients are not grown with toxic pesticides, chemical fertilizers or fumigants. Sugars, in moderation, are a part of healthy eating and like any snack, we recommend having them in moderation. All our organic flavors are fruit, spice or plant based; organic cherry flavor is from organic cherries and organic vanilla flavor is from organic vanilla bean. We do use whey protein concentrate (milk) in the frosting of this pastry. If you’d like to avoid it, I suggest trying our un-frosted toaster pastries. Monocalcium phosphate is a mineral used as a leavening agent when we bake them. Rest assured, it has been tested and meets all food safety standards and is approved to use in organic foods. Unfortunately, there is no organic form in the quantity and/or quality that we need, but we are working with suppliers so we’ll know if there is. If you’d like to learn more, please get in touch with Nicolette in Consumer Services at cereal@naturespath.com. All the best, Jamie, Nature’s Path Team

I wish you could make these without the animal by products! The only vegan toaster pastries I can find are unfrosted and they just aren’t the same. I miss the frosting so much, it’s the best part of the pastry!!! I do however love many of your other products and the time you take to make them healthy.

Thanks for taking the time to write to us. This is a great question! Our palm oil comes from long established organic palm plantations and small scale farms which are located in an agricultural area of the Amazon delta near Belem, Brazil. Our supplier is in the final stages of certification with RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) www.rspo.org. This certifies them as an organic supplier and meets the stringent IBD Certification (Brazillian certifier) that has environmental and sustainable requirements. They have been approved as one of the first EcoSocial projects in Brazil, a seal issued by the IBD Program for fair relations in the trade of socially and environmentally certified products. Hi Ian and thanks for your inquiry. To clarify, for these toaster pastries we use palm fruit oil. However, both the palm kernel oil and palm fruit oil that we use in various products are healthy oils and sustainably harvested. All the best, Justine, Nature’s Path Team

Thanks so much for your question Chris. Currently we don’t have anything in the works for a low sugar version, but I have forwarded your suggestion to our Research and Development team. I was happy to find your cherry pomegran pop tarts in my local grocery store because they are all organic and they have no animal products in them. I did have one question and that is regarding the vanilla flavor in them. I was wondering if there was any alcohol content in the vanilla flavor?
Thanks for writing to us
Submitted by Jamie on January 11, 2011 - 09:50.
Thanks for writing to us Mustafa! For the extraction process of the vanilla flavor we do use organic alcohol derived from non-GMO corn. The final product may or may not contain alcohol, but we’re unable to confirm since we don’t test this on final products. I hope this helps Mustafa. Take care, Jamie, Nature’s Path Team

Hi Kelly, we’re pleased to hear that your family is enjoying our pastries, but sorry to hear that you are having trouble finding them! If they appear to be frequently out of stock, we suggest asking local Costco to make a special order for you, or if you click here: http://www.naturespath.com/find-retailer you find other local retailers who may carry them. I then suggest calling the retailers before making the trip to the store to ensure they carry this product. If you can’t find the toaster pastries in your area, then please note that you can also buy them online through our website. Thanks for getting in touch! Take care, Jamie, Nature’s Path Team
