I just moved from Los Angeles

I just moved from Los Angeles to Redding, Ca, and am really bummed to see that the Costco here does not sell the berry version - only pumpkin. I can’t get it from Costco.com, either. Any suggestions? I eat that stuff like there’s no tomorrow, so I need to find it at a good price. Thanks in advance!

Hey there Mike and thanks for getting in touch with us. I highly suggest checking out www.amazon.com where you’ll usually be able to find deals if you buy in bulk. You can also try other club stores such as Sam’s Club or BJ’s. All the best, Jamie, Nature’s Path Team

Hi Jerry and thanks for reaching out to us. This cereal has 0.81 g of Omega-3 Fatty Acids and 1.89 g Omega-6 Fatty Acids per 55g serving. Please let us know what other cereals you would like to know the Omega-3s and 6s for by using our Contacts form here: http://www.naturespath.com/contact-us. Nicolette will get back you by email. We don’t have this information on our US packaging because the US requires Polyunsaturated Fat and Monounsaturated Fat instead. This information would be on our Canadian packaging though. Before I start: For those of you asking where you can get it… I get it at Whole Foods. I don’t know if there is one where you live but you may also try a similar type of store (health food).
Now, for my review… I love, love, love this cereal. I have never been a huge fan of cereal (only a few brands here and there caught my interest and they were, of course, all unhealthy) but Red Berry Crunch is definitely exceptional… And, even better, good for you! I recently switched to a vegetarian diet and, in less than a month, I’ve lost 20 pounds… This cereal has been a huge part of that. I eat it every morning and sometimes I’ll have a bowl later in the day when I’m getting hungry but it’s not time for dinner yet (small bowl for a mid-day snack, for example).
Unlike other cereals, it’s also very filling. I don’t find myself wanting more to eat after one bowl like I have in the past with other cereals.
I have to say, it’s also delicious with a banana added.
Hi Rachel and thanks so much

This cereal has an amazing 7 grams of fiber which is probably helping you do the trick. Plus, adding a great tasting organic banana gives it a little extra umpf. Keep up the great work Rachel! This cereal is so good, I’ve got two boxes waiting in reserve. I like the tart and sweet hitting with the always-crunchy flakes and clusters. This is probably one of the best cold cereals I’ve had in years. Thanks for making a consistently good product that delivers as promised!

While I would love to try

While I would love to try this cereal, the “natural strawberry flavor” listed as one of the ingredients has me nervous. I do not consume any animal products. Often, natural flavors are derived from animal/insect sources and since Nature’s Path does not state the orgin on the packaging, I can not purchase this product for my family. I wish Nature’s Path would either omit the “natural strawberry flavor” from its product or, at least, specify if it is an animal or non-animal source.

Hi Sue and thank you for reaching out to us. The natural flavors are only fruit, spice or plant based so please don’t be nervous. For the new Points+ program, 1 serving of this is 6 pts. I found an article that breaks down the formula to calculate points for the new WW system:
First add the carbs and protein together and divide by 10. (If carbs+protein is 20, you’ll get 2 points)
Then account for the fat. If the item has 2 grams of fat, add a point. Add a point for every 4 grams of fat after that. (1 gram is free. 2-5 is 1P+, 6-9 is 2P+, 10-13 is 3P+)
Fiber is such a small part of the calculation. If you happen to be eating something with 12 grams of fiber, you can subtract one point.

Found this great cereal at Costco, tried it, and absolutely love it! My grandson tried it and now it is his favorite, too. I bought ten boxes at Costco awhile back, and now that I have used up what I had, I find Costco no longer has it! I don’t know where else to find it here in Hawaii (Big Island).

Flax plus Red Berry. I agree
Submitted by k (not verified) on October 3, 2010 - 11:41.
Flax plus Red Berry. I agree with the enthusiasm for this cereal - bought at Costco. With Flax in the name, I would expect the flax to be ground or milled. Instead I see the actual flax seeds in the cereal. Is that just for presentation? and maybe there is some additional ground flax in the cereal? Grinding is the only way that our bodies can use it - and it needs to be freshly recently ground. Which it would be when it flies off the shelves/pallets at Costco!
I am hoping for an answer from the recipe people at Nature’s Path?
I’m also pleased to know that you are the manufacturer of Heritage flakes - also my favorite. I’m glad to see it in large eco bags in my health food stores, like Country Sun in Palo Alto
Thank you.

Hi there, thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. Flax Plus® Red Berry Crunch does contain a combination of both whole and ground flax seeds. The flaxseeds that we use are not all fully ground or crushed because they go rancid very quickly without refrigeration or the use of preservatives. Some of the seeds do actually get ground up by the cereal manufacturing process to make more nutrients available. At this time there isn’t a better solution to the problem unless we use preservatives, which is not in alignment with our principles as we make organic products. If you’re looking for ground flax, I would suggest our ground Flaxseed Meal which we sell for people to sprinkle on their cereal and suggest that they refrigerate it. Cheers, Emily from Nature’s Path
