Looking for any recipes using Maple Pecan Crunch in. Have to believe that there are other ways to enjoy this product other then as a cereal. Thank you for your attention to this question.

Hi Kathi and thanks for

Hi Kathi and thanks for reaching out to us. I think it’s a fabulous idea to use this cereal in recipes! Please see our recipe section here: http://www.naturespath.com/recipes for ideas. I don’t think we have a Maple Pecan Crunch specific recipe, however you could most likely swap it it for some of our other cereals that are used as ingredients. (All this talk about maple is making me hungry! I think I’ll go have a MMMaple Pecan Granola Bar. If you love this cereal, you’ll love this bar too!) All the best, Justine, Nature’s Path Team.

How do you not use

How do you not use preservatives? I know from when I make bread or anything if I don’t refrigerate it, it goes bad in days. Does the “tocopherols” help in preserving or the salt? Or how do you guys help it last longer? Thank you! Love the cereal!!!!!

Hi Bryan and thanks for

Hi Bryan and thanks for sharing your input with us. I’m so glad to hear that you love our cereal! Our products are all certified organic, so we don’t use any artificial additives or artificial preservatives. The key word here is “artificial” because we do still use organic preservatives such as tocopherols. Tocopherols are a natural vitamin E used to ensure the freshness of our products. The Tocopherols used in Nature’s Path products are non-GMO plant based. Hope that answers your question! All the best, Justine, Nature’s Path Team.

Can you tell me if the

Can you tell me if the flaxseed is ground or milled or the whole seed? Thank you so much! Rosemarie

Hi Rosemarie and thanks for

Hi Rosemarie and thanks for taking the time to ask us this question! The flax seeds we use are not fully ground or crushed because they go rancid very quickly without refrigeration or the use of preservatives (which we don’t use as we only make organic products). Some seeds do get ground up by the manufacturing process to make more nutrients available. Some of the seeds that are attached to the flakes will be broken by teeth and so some of the nutrients will be made available to you. We now also sell ground flax separately, FlaxPlus Flaxseed Meal, for people to sprinkle on their cereal and we suggest that they refrigerate it. In addition, we make whole brown flaxseeds, FlaxPlus Flaxseeds, that can also be added to cereal as well. I hope that answers your question! All the best, Justine, Nature’s Path Team.

Recent boxes of Flax Plus

Recent boxes of Flax Plus Maple Pecan Crunch have contained successively fewer and fewer pecans. In the current box I have found NO pecans, NO granola clusters, only flakes. I’m disappointed. The box tab shows “best before 2011 Dec 18, 06 14 34014”

I wish this cereal was gluten

I wish this cereal was gluten free. It looks good, plus I like pecans. I don’t understand, if it’s made with flax, why add the wheat? Come on now, I’m a cereal person and you’ve only got two gluten free options.

Hi Alyssa and thanks for

Hi Alyssa and thanks for reaching out to us! Thanks so much for taking the time to get in touch with us. We understand that everyone has different tastes, therefore, we offer over 120 different products at varying sweetness levels. We also use organic sugars such as pear juice, grape juice, pomegranate juice, honey, evaporated cane juice, and agave. In moderation sugar is a part of a healthy balanced diet, so we recommend our consumers choose products that work for them and their diet. If you like the taste of maple and would like a cereal with less sugar, I suggest you try our Crunchy Maple Sunrise. We also have our puffed cereals which don’t contain any sugar at all. Take care, Jamie, Nature’s Path Team

This is THE best cold cereal I have ever eaten! I just bought it “on a whim” and I certainly will be buying more — and telling friends and family about it. Thanks for making such a tasty, wholesome product!

I love this cereal but have

I love this cereal but have been having a hard time finding it at my local stores. I use to be able to get it in a large (2 bag) box from Costco but they do not carry it anymore. Also, one of my local Kroger stores (I have 2 close to home) was carrying it but I could not find it today nor was there even an empy spot on the store shelf. Can you tell me where I can purchase some (other than your site)? I live in the 48348 zip code. My Krogers has other flavors of Nature Path cereal but not Flax Plus Maple Pecan Crunch.

Hi Mary and thanks so much

Hi Mary and thanks so much for posting your comment. I suggest you ask Costco when they’ll be receiving their next shipment or click here http://www.naturespath.com/find-retailer to find a retailer near you. Do call the store first to make sure they carry this product. Some stores vary in what they carry. You can also try Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club or your local natural health food store. I’m sure this cereal is very tasty. I love all the ingredients, especially pecan. Besides, it is very healthy. I don’t know exactly but all the recipes where there are pecans are considered to be healthy (for example this one: http://www.tubestime.com/watch/healthy-comfort-recipes-using-pecans ). The thing is that pecans are full of vitamins and antioxidants which are said to prevent cancer.

Hi Kayla, this cereal is certainly yummy! Be sure to let us know what you think of it once you give it a try! Cheers, Emily from Nature’s Path

I love your cereal but I have

I love your cereal but I have a few complaints that could be easily fixed. It’s really hard to open the plastic inside the box. And once I get it open, it can’t be resealed. The raisins that go with the cereal are great at first because they’ve been sealed in the package. After a few days they’re as hard as rocks because of the lack of a seal. Why not switch to an easy-open strip on the top of a re-sealable plastic bag? That would solve all problems.

Hi Ron, thanks for sharing

Hi Ron, thanks for sharing your feedback with us. It is common practice that non- organic foods companies use artificial chemicals, preservatives or additives in packaging to prevent food from going prematurely stale. For many years Nature’s Path instead relied on using a strong seal to ensure product freshness – a seal that required scissors to open the bag. Our products are now packaged in our ‘easy-peal’ bags (no scissors required!), which will be available across our full range of products by the end of the year. As we deeply value the opinions of our customers, your feedback about the seal has been passed along to our Brand Manager who will review the comments that you’ve brought forward. Best, Emily from Nature’s Path

Why don’t you try using a chip-clip or a clothespin to seal the bag? These do the trick for me with other cereals and they stay fresh for days.
