I absolutely love the Optimum

I absolutely love the Optimum Cinnamon cereal, my children and I eat it daily.  I just purchased two boxes and neither box had not one blueberry in them!  The cereal is not the same without the blueberries! The best part is at the end when it’s time to drink the milk…it’s like drinking blueberry milk.  Does this happen often?

This is, without question,

This is, without question, the best cold cereal on the market in America. The nutritional data is amazing and the flavor is above most other “nutritional” options. Low sugars, low calorie, low fat, high fiber, omega 3!  Just amazing! Don’t change anything other than the art work on the box!

Hi Michael and thanks for sharing your awesome comment! We’re super honored to hear you think so highly of our cereal. Take care, Justine, Nature’s Path Team

Hi Pete. We’re sorry to hear

Hi Pete. We’re sorry to hear you’ve had this experience. This odor is likely due to the flax content, which can sometimes emit a chemical or plastic-like smell. Usually this is due to the natural odor of flax, however sometimes this smell is due to the flax turning rancid. Flax, while providing amazing health benefits and flavor, can be a pretty temperamental ingredient that can oxidize and turn rancid over time or when exposed to warm storage and shipping conditions. To make this right, please contact Nicolette, Consumer Services, using this contact form here: http://www.naturespath.com/contact-us and she’ll be happy to help you further. All the best, Justine, Nature’s Path Team

I really enjoy your flax plus

I really enjoy your flax plus red berry crunch, but I do have one suggestion. The 10.6 oz box is way too small. It’s barely enough for two large bowls. I’m a growing boy, and you sell this in kiddie size. What gives? Bigger box pretty please!!

The Flax Plus Multibran

The Flax Plus Multibran actually seems pretty good at only 4 gs of sugar. That’s 8 gs less than the “healthy” Muesli that I buy now.

Hi there and thanks for

Hi there and thanks for joining the conversation! While this cereal does have sugar in it, it’s comparably lower than many others on the market. If you’d like more suggestions on cereals with 5g of sugar or less per serving, you might want to try our Fruit Juice Corn Flakes, Honey’d Corn Flakes, Millet Rice Flakes, Whole O’s, Crispy Rice, Multigrain Oatbran Flakes, and Heritage Flakes. Happy munching, Justine, Nature’s Path Team

I can never understand why so

I can never understand why so many cereals have sugar in them. Isn't it possible to make a cereal without sugar??

Sugar is naturally in every

Sugar is naturally in every food. If something has no added sugar it means the sugar on the nutrition facts label is what is in the food naturally. If they were to some how take out all the sugar in food it would be useless to the body as glucose is our bodies # one energy source. With out consuming it your body would resort to protein break down for energy and you would painfully and slowly waste away.

Thanks for getting in touch

Thanks for getting in touch with us Margaret. Sugars, in moderation, are a part of a healthy diet. The body does neet sugar for energy, but sugars need to be a part of a balanced menu plan and based on personal health conditions and personal taste preferences. As an alternative to processed white sugars, Nature’s Path uses organic evaporated cane juice, and organic sweeteners such as pear juice, agave, honey, grape juice and pomegranate juice. We have a large selection of cereals that vary in sweetness levels. Our puffed cereals don’t contain any sugar at all so you may be interested in trying them. My favorite are the Kamut Puffs (http://www.naturespath.com/products/cold%20cereals?tid=All&brand=All&nut…). Your comment and suggestion is very important to us, therefore, I have passed it on to our R&D team who will look into it further. All the best, Jamie, Nature’s Path Team

I strongly agree with

I strongly agree with Margaret as well. I would like to see some cold cereals especially flakes or squares with no added sweeteners. I would prefer to add my own sweetener like honey. I don’t like to get lots of sweetener or sugars in my daily intake so not having it in my food to start with would help me out a lot. There is far too much sugar added to most packed foods in the American Diet. I bet your customers who are more health focused than the general population would appreciate maybe just one line of cereal without added sweeteners. You could fill a niche. I can’t find one brand of cereal on the shelf at Whole Foods or any other natural and organic food stores in my town that have cold cereal which does not contain some form of sucrose or added sweeteners. I am a registered dietitian and don’t agree that sugars need to be part of a balanced menu unless you are talking about foods that turn into sugar in the blood like complex carbohydrates. Thank you for your consideration. -Melinda MacNaughton MS, RD

I totally agree with

I totally agree with Margaret.  I really like this cereal but as I am a low carb dieter, I’d really prefer a totally unsweetened version that I could sweeten with whatever I wanted to use, such as Stevia or Xylitol.  Since your puffed cereals contain no sugar, why not make a flaked cereal that works the same way?  And about your point of our bodies needing sugar, don’t we convert carbs to sugar in any case?  Thanks…

Thanks so much for getting in touch with us and for sharing your comments. We are looking into Stevia, but it’s not yet acceptable for large organic food manufacturing use. Hi, I read on an earlier

Hi, I read on an earlier response on 1/18/11 by Jamie that the flaxseeds used in the cereals “are not all fully ground or crushed because this means the product would go rancid very quickly without refrigeration or the use of preservatives, so storing products in a cool dark dry place will help preserve freshness.” My question is would it be also be ok, or better to store the product in the refrigerator? Thanks!

Where can I find info about the fortification of these cereals with B vitamins?  Are they fortified with B6?, B9? B2? B1? B12? What percent of daily RDA’s?  My wife eats the flax plus cereal every day. She is a vegan. I am wondering what % of RDA’s she is getting of certain nutrients.  On the ingredients list it mentions Vit E - what % of RDA in a serving? Why doe the nutrition panel only list Vit A & Vit C?

Thanks so much for taking the

Thanks so much for taking the time to ask all your great questions Mike! Nature’s Path is an organic company which means our products don’t contain artificial preservatives, additives, or genetically modified organisms. This means that we do not add minerals and vitamins to our products. We highly suggest you and your wife ask your medical practitioner how you can get the necessary vitamins and minerals naturally from foods like organic fruits and vegitables. All the best, Jamie, Nature’s Path Team

Hi Sheela and thanks for reaching out to us! We certainly hope you’re drinking your 8 cups then! I highly suggest you use our Find a Retailer to help you with your question. Go here http://www.naturespath.com/find-retailer, then enter in your state/province and city. It’s best to call the stores before making the trip to confirm they have what you’re looking for. does anyone have a receipe for a muffin, cereal bar or bread using flax plus?

Hi Donna and thanks for

Hi Donna and thanks for sharing your great question! We currently don’t have recipes for this product, but I will let our recipe developer know that you had requested something. Check out our Recipes tab above for some inspiration, because I’m sure there’s something you can come up with. We have some different recipes for our Heritage Flakes that can probably be substituted with Flax Plus Flakes. Or try this recipe and substitute the cereal: http://www.naturespath.com/recipes/breakfast/smartbran-fruit-flax-muffins. Take care Donna, Jamie, Nature’s Path Team
