I bought the Vanilla Sunrise on a whim at Kroger. I rarely eat cold cereals, but wow! This stuff is delicious. I’m amazed that it is GF, organic, AND vegan - can’t wait to share it with my family. Thanks for the great work :)

Hi Tarasa and thanks so much for sharing your input with us! We’re so happy that you’ve found a cereal that meets your dietary needs - I’m sure finding organic, gluten-free, vegan foods is challenging enough, let alone worrying about taste. But I have to agree, this stuff is oh-so yummy! Take care, Justine, Nature’s Path Team

Hi Kendle and thanks for reaching out to us. As retailers order our products through distributors – not directly from Nature’s Path – unfortunately we aren’t able to provide the details of the individual products stocked in each store. A selection of Nature’s Path products is available in the cereal aisle or the natural/ organic food section at all major retailers across North America, and many health food stores. If your local store does not stock the product you are looking for, we’d recommend asking them to order it for you. You can always try Amazon.com as they carry most of our products. Hello, I’ve been buying Nature’s Path products for years and enjoy them! I recently purchased this cereal at Costco, and the expiration date shows 2012 Jul 05. Despite this, the cereal smells a bit “off” (rancid?) but just wondering if this is a function of all the grains in there? Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

Submitted by Justine on February 1, 2012 - 11:41.
Hi Beth and thanks for reaching out to us. We’re so sorry to hear you’re having this experience with our cereal. In theory, the cereal should be fine if it’s within the expiration date. The smell might be coming from the flax seed content of this cereal, as flax does tend to emit a curious smell that’s generally associated with chemical smells (fishy, paint-like or petroleum-like). Being a delicate and volatile ingredient, sometimes flax does go rancid which results in an even more intense chemical smell. Keeping that in mind, if you think it smells rancid, I wouldn’t suggest eating this. Have you tried this cereal before and does it smell different than previous boxes? Regardless, I’m going to pass along this info to Consumer Services who’ll investigate this further. To make this right, please contact Nicolette, Consumer Services, so she can follow-up with you or she can email you at the address you provided. Take care, Justine, Nature’s Path Team

Try Sprouts/Henry’s, Mother’s Market, maybe even Whole Foods. I have purchased the cereal at the Fullerton Costco and they have told me is that when it is gone…no more :( Here’s a key note, if you see an astricks * on the label with the product name, price, etc., and you see an * …that means it is for a limited time.
I hope you find it and look for Harritt’s original salad dressing (Texas Ranch), Costco had them on limited time, and that is a gluten-free salad dressing! Even if you have non-gf eaters in the house, they will surly like it.
I do not know if Sprouts or other selective markets would have it. Oh, also check Trader Joe’s, they offer GF cereals, as well.

My husband and I were vacationing in Hawaii and found this cereal at the Costco on Maui. We had not seen it at our Costco at home :-( This is an absolutely great cereal for those who run and NEED that little sugar boost in the morning before a long run. I am trying very hard to cut down on gluten and this is the perfect replacement for all those wheat-based cereals. Thank you for a great product….I would LOVE to see it available at the Costco stores in Tucson!

Hi Teresia and thanks for taking the time to share your comments. We’re really sorry to hear you’ve had this experience. I do have to say, compared to some of our other cereals, Crunchy Vanilla Sunrise definitely is the sweeter cereal of the pack. While this may have been too sweet for your liking, we do offer over 80 products at a variety of sweetness levels. Also, in some of our other cereals we use alternatives to evaporated cane juice (raw sugar) such as grape juice and pear juice, agave, pomegrante juice, honey, barley malt, brown rice syrup, and other fruit juices. For example, our Fruit Juice Sweetened Corn Flakes is sweetened using… you guessed it, fruit juice! Still, we are aware of how many people are searching for low sugar options, and so I have told your concerns to the Brand Manager. To make this right, please contact Nicolette, Consumer Services, using our contact form here: http://www.naturespath.com/contact-us. All the best, Justine, Nature’s Path Team

I’m glad to hear that you’re researching low sugar options. I didn’t realize how much was in this when I bought mine, and it was making my blood sugar spike so badly I had to throw the rest away. A similar blend with a little honey would be better, or better yet - don’t sweeten it. I can add a little sweet & low to it like I do Cheerios and be just fine.
Hi Blackthorne and thanks for
Submitted by Justine on October 20, 2011 - 09:14.
Hi Blackthorne and thanks for reaching out to us. We’re sorry you’ve had this experience with this cereal. This cereal is one of our sweetest cereals so if you don’t like sweet flavors, this might not be the cereal for you. However we do make cereals with little or no sugar added with 5 grams of sugar or less per serving such as: Rice Puffs, Kamut Puffs, Corn Puffs, Millet Puffs, Millet Rice Flakes, Heritage Flakes, Crispy Rice Cereal, and Fruit Juice Sweetened Corn Flakes and Honey’d Corn Flakes (sweetened with honey, as you suggested). Perhaps one of these less sweet options would be better suited to your tastes preference? I’ll also mention that we don’t use any artificial sweeteners such as Sweet & Low because we only use organic ingredients. Therefore we use natural sweeteners such as evaporated cane juice (raw sugar), agave, fruit juices, barley malt, brown rice syrup, and molasses, or in some cases no sweetener at all. All the best, Justine, Nature’s Path Team.

I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease over 6 years ago and the one major thing I missed was cereal. I searched and tried every gf cereal that I could find…they all failed miserably. When I found The Vanilla Crunch Sunrise, I gave it a try and I was finally in heaven! Then I found the Maple Crunch Sunrise and I couldn’t believe that something gluten free could taste so good. I love them both more than anything and I used to eat the Maple one every day (sometimes more than once a day)…I recently moved to Australia and the cereals available here are horrible. I really hope (at some point) they can come to Australia because I miss them so much! I still think about them…I know that’s a bit sad but they are absolutely amazing!! Nothing will ever compare… :)

Ocassionally people will have reactions to corn as well. Like wheat, corn is in lots of goods as well. We all have different sensitivities to different grains. Ask your doctor which grain(s) you would be sensitive to with Celiac, etc. You may be surprised. Even with IBS, I cannot always go strictly by an IBS diet. People react to things differently.
