Hi Audra and thanks for sharing your story! I’m so super glad your husband has a new go-to breakfast favorite. If he likes our puffed cereals, he might also like our Corn Puffs cereal which is essentially unsalted, unflavored, Non-GMO organic popped corn. Makes a nice, light snack (I’m reaching into my desk right now to grab a handful from my secret stash!) Unfortunately, we don’t mail out coupons and we have yet to develop an e-coupon system. If you’re interested, please join us on our facebook page at www.facebook.com/naturespath or follow up on twitter @NaturesPath as we often hold giveaways of our products. Have you ever considered making this cereal without the oat bran? I am allergic to gluten and oats (regardless of GF). I tried the cereal and liked the flavor, but found the oats caused me problems.
Hi there and thanks for
Submitted by Justine on October 24, 2011 - 11:02.
Hi there and thanks for taking the time to share your input with us. We’re sorry you’ve had this experience with the oats. As you may already know, it seems that the protein in oats does not do damage, but the concern is the possibility of cross contamination from wheat, rye or barley in the field or during the milling process. Therefore, at this time in North America most oats are not acceptable in a gluten free diet and organic gluten free oats are not available in the quantities required for our products. We take your comments very seriously and so I’ve told the Brand Manager of your suggestion. In the meantime, please take a look at our gluten-free product line here: http://www.naturespath.com/eat-well/gluten-free-celiac-diet. Since you like flakes, I’d personally suggest our Fruit Juice Sweetned Corn Flakes or our Honey’d Corn Flakes. All the best, Justine, Nature’s Path Team.

Dear Nature’s Path, I’m disappointed that this product has been withdrawn in the UK. My local health shop manager tells me that you intend to bring it back but with added wheat! is this true? I don’t think he will stock it anymore as he said nearly everybody bought it because it didn’t contain any wheat. I recently visited the US and bought a packet of the original formula over there so why don’t you market it in the UK?

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on June 30, 2011 - 04:12.
But WHEN is Millet Rice coming back on the market in the UK? It is THE only decent tasting packet cereal. No sugar and huge fibre. I don't like any of your other products (have tried them all as substitutes - yuk!) and I never get attached to products but I really miss this one. I would always have to buy it 3 boxes at a time because it flew off the shelves so fast where I live (NW3 UK) so I know it is very popular and there were never enough stocks in any of the health shops near me. There is NO other product anything like this on the market in the UK. Give us a date please!

Here in Vancouver, Canada, I haven't been able to find my beloved Millet & Rice cereal for some months. At first I thought it was a stocking problem at my local Safeway, but they don't even have a ticket on their shelves anymore. When I Googled tonight, I was very disheartened to see that the re-introduction will be delayed, and no longer gluten-free. I'll still buy it for myself, but for my friend who visits who has gluten intolerence, I'll have to find other routes. Pity -- it was a terrific cereal!

I love Millet Rice! I'm so sorry to hear it will no longer be gluten free, because I've really liked that the cereal had non-typical grains like millet. However, we don't have a health reason to avoid gluten, so we are fortunate in that regard. We love this cereal in our house, and as others have said, my boys will choose this cereal above others, even Lucky Charms, so you know you have a winner there! Thanks for making this delicious, nutritious, and filling product. We don't buy much cold cereal any more, but when we do, it's Millet Rice.

I just want to add my voice to the others. Millet Rice Flakes has been my favourite cereal for a number years since I became intolerant to wheat following a viral illness. It has become a more recent favourite with my children once they graduated from pinching it from my bowl to making it their choice of cereal (over quite a variety of others I might add). I think it is head & shoulders above other wheat free cereals and I think it speaks volumes that it has become the children’s choice. I usually buy from my local health shop or supermarket and have even on occasion bought in bulk from an online outlet but obviously like everyone else I’m being told there are supply problems. Please sort it out. we miss our cereal.

Also not happy with UK
Submitted by Warren Bassett (not verified) on May 8, 2011 - 15:36.
Also not happy with UK office. I have been eating the wheat free Millet and Rice Oatbran Flakes cereal for years, and I feel that the other gluten free cereals are no match for this extremely flavoursome cereal. I think it’s really poor customer service to put out a statement that they can’t obtain a reliable oatbran flakes source, that is wheat free, when they are selling another cereal that contains gluten free oatbran, that being the Gluten Free O’s.
I’ve been aware for quite sometime that the Millet Rice cereal was one of Nature’s Path’s best selling products in the UK, so this make no business sense to discontinue the product, especially when the ingredient that has been mentioned as a problem to source, is already being used in another product. Please look into this.

Hi Warren and thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. We’re so sorry to disappoint you, but we haven’t been unable to source quality organic oats that haven’t been contaminated with wheat. This cereal will be reintroduced later in the year, but won’t have the wheat free claim. Although Nature’s Path UK list Millet Rice as discontinued on their website, they sent me this email on the 12th April, which I hope they will honour:
“Further to our previous correspondence concerning Natures Path Millet Rice Oatbran Flakes.
Having listened to consumer feedback, it would seem that a high proportion of our consumers would still be able to use this product even though it was no longer “wheat free”. We are therefore pleased to advise that the decision has been taken that we will produce the Millet Rice and remove the “wheat free” claim.
As we have to purchase the ingredients and change the packaging, this will not be available here in the UK until at the earliest July and this will only be sold through the Health Food trade. As soon as this is available we will post this on our website.

Hi there Stephanie and thanks for getting in touch with us. This product contains oats (oat flour & oat bran) which, although don’t contain gluten, can be cross contaminated with gluten containing grains in the field where they are grown or during the milling process. Yes this cereal is still being made, and my suggestion would be to start purchasing it online through www.worldpantry.com or www.amazon.com. This will ensure you are getting the product you want and when you want it! If you would like a list of our wheat free and corn free products, please email cereal@naturespath.com and Nicolette will be able to send you a list. Take care Stephanie, Jamie, Nature’s Path Team
