Rawr! Under no circumstance will I ever consider buying a different brand of cereal! Sometimes - no - always, whenever I feel hungry, I open up a box of Gorilla Munchies. Too much cereal? Leave me be, please, this is no ordinary cereal. Everyone loves Gorilla Munchies. Dear Nature’s Path: you have done mankind the greatest possible service. Jason, my brother (who is allergic to gluten by the way) suggested this cereal, since I also seem to be having problems with gluten. I love it! My problems seem to have disappeared! My brother was right. I must have been allergic to gluten, just like him…Eh, if he had told me about your cereal earlier, I wouldn’t have to face all these years of bad digestion. Stay awesome!

Hi Amy and thanks for reaching out to us. Gorilla Munch is still very much available in North America, however I’m not sure what’s the deal in Europe. I think it’s called Gluten-Free Munch over there. We’ll look into this and get back to you at the email you provided. Hi there and thanks for taking the time to share your input. We’re so glad you love to munch on Gorilla Munch (it’s one of my personal favorites!) and I really admire your passion for supporting the protection of gorillas. As you know, we give 1% of sales from EnviroKidz products to non-profit organizations that support kids and the environment. I don’t know what the figure is per box, but so far we’ve raised more than $1.4 million towards the protection of endangered species. As a family-owned independent manufacturer, we’re really proud of what we’ve accomplished so far. With your help, we hope to continue to grow this amount! If you’re looking for more info, please see our sustainability report, specifically page 37 for the EnviroKidz program: http://www.naturespath.com/do-good/sustainability. I have a student care package company here in Canada and Love Crunch is featured in my Valentine’s Day care packages. If I cannot get more by then, I will have to redesign my packages. Keeping my fingers crossed you plan to offer it again because your Love Crunch will be a hard act to follow!! Thanks, Valerie McKenzie-Flynn

It does help that there is cute animals on the boxes and since I’m a veterinarian she thinks that is so cool. As a guy in my late twenties I still love eating kid cereals. The great thing about this line is that you make them fun with a lot to learn and read about. If only adult cereals were as entertaining. ***I was so happy today because I just opened a new box of GMUNCH and lo and behold there was a huuuuge agglomeration of Peanut Butter. It was salty sweet delicious. Could you make more of these tasty nebulae in the box? Thanksss!

Hi GaiusJ and thanks for sharing! I absolutely LOVE that you call it GMUNCH! That’s hiliarous! Not sure how peanut butter got into this but I’m glad you were pleasantly surprised. If you’re craving something that has peanut butter in it (on purpose), try our Panda Puffs. They’re just like “GMunch” but with peanut butter in them! YUM! All the best, Justine, Nature’s Path Team
Is this a whole grain cereal
Submitted by Cassidy (not verified) on October 28, 2011 - 19:39.
Is this a whole grain cereal even though the first ingredient listed on the box is cornmeal. I am only questioning this because I thought that corn was a whole grain. I have been wanting to try this cereal for breakfast but has been unsure because the box does not say anything about it being a whole grain cereal. I like that it is gluten free though!

Hi Cassidy and thanks for asking us this question. This cereal isn’t whole grain. However, please be assured the following ingredients used in our products are ALL WHOLE GRAIN:

Buckwheat flour, and
Barley Flour. I suggest trying Leapin Lemurs if you like Gorilla Munch but want whole grains. All the best, Justine, Nature’s Path Team

Following up from Jason’s comment - yes, it would be good to know if the cane juice is refined. I also had to do alot of research to find out if this was made from non-GMO corn. Read somewhere that all your gluten-free products are, but it is not on the label. For all of us health “freaks”, I’d love to see it on the package. Would make me feel better about buying it. : )
Hi Sarina and thanks for
Submitted by Justine on September 12, 2011 - 16:10.
Hi Sarina and thanks for reaching out to us. We do not use any highly refined sugars. The cane juice we use is broken up, soaked, heated, then pressed to get the cane juice out. This cane juice contains sugar and ‘mud’, a molasses-like solid. It is then filtered to remove impurities and clarified before evaporating to leave crystals. The cane juice is only refined to the point of having most of the sugar solids intact (without these steps, the taste would be too strong). On the other hand, refined white sugar goes through a chemical process that would not be allowed by organic standards. For an intersting article on the supplier of Nature’s Path organic evaporated cane juice, please visit: http://abcnews.go.com/video/playerindex?id=11155169. As for non-GMO, we do not have any GMO ingredients in our products. In fact, we are currently involved in new program called the Non-GMO project (http://www.nongmoproject.org) which involves new labelling which will be displayed on our products in the future to indicate that they are free of GMOs. Since you seem like you are in support of GMO labelling, this project is definitely something you might be interested in! All the best, Justine, Nature’s Path Team.

My son was recently diagnosed with a wheat allergy in addition to a peanut allergy. I was surprised to learn that this product was manufactored in a facility that uses nuts.
Hi Yari and thanks so much
Submitted by Justine on September 8, 2011 - 16:11.
Hi Yari and thanks so much for sharing your thoughts with us! When we say “produced in a facility that uses peanuts” we mean is that the product is produced on shared equipment that encounters nuts. All of our products that don’t contain nuts as listed as an ingredient are theoretically nut-free however, there is still the remote chance of contamination from this shared equipment. After handling any product with nuts or other allergens, we do a full allergen clean-up on the production lines and use various cleaning methods such as rinsing, hot scrubber machines, vacuums, and organic compliant cleaning solution followed by protein tests on the equipment. Also, cleaning is supervised and checked off by Quality Assurance. Still, no matter how small the chance we feel it is our duty to tell you of the possibility of contamination. With this info in mind, we leave the final choice to you and your health care professional. All the best, Justine, Nature’s Path Team

I’ve tried other Nature’s Path Foods and loved them, but never this one since it’s pretty sugary. However, I’ve been in the UK for the past five months and this is literally the only corn puff cereal on the market. I managed to hold out on buying cereal, but my craving for it finally got to be too much, and I bought a box of this today. Best decision ever. Yes, it is very sweet, but that makes it all the better for having a bowl as a late night snack :)

My lips are blistered and my stomach is upset. I observe a very strict gluten free diet and yesterday morning I ate a bowl of Gorilla Munch for breakfast, shortly after that I began experiencing swelling in my lips and blisters forming around my mouth. The batch that mine is from must have been contaminated somehow. I have called the company and am waiting for a call back.

My daughter has had many problem. Specialist still doesn’t know if she is coeliac or has Crohn’s Disease; had biopsy etc, etc. . She has thrived on a gluten free and dairy free, milk protein free diet. Has been poorly tis week again. Severe constipation, tummy aches, lethargy and very angry emotionally. A sudden change. The only major change in her diet has been two thing. The introduction of Corn pasta and gorilla munch, which is made from corn.
Her asthma has also flared up (which had gone away after we excluded wheat). Corn has a hgh content of mould spores; which explains the asthma and ~I’ve also read plenty and researched corn intolerance. It’s common. So your reaction could be due to corn, as every time my daughter had corn or maltodextrin, corn syrup etc, her symptons would flare up , like they do when she has had gluten. I was convinced of contaminastion etc from so many propucts. I’m now realising it could have been from corn all this time. So worth checking out for yourself. Also all grains. Rice has to be gluten free aswell. Hope this helps. x
