The flavor of this cereal is great however the dried cranberries are just too tough! I feel like my teeth are going to crack when I bite into one! I’m not going to do what another commenter suggested and wait 10 minutes to eat the cereal after I put the milk in. The rest of the cereal will soggy!

This cereal got me all curious because I LOVE ginger and dried cranberries, who could resist such a combination. I bought a box and am so disappointed. The ginger is BARELY there, the cranberries are so unbelievably hard and literally crack against your teeth. There are also an overwhelming amount of rice crisps in comparison to the other grains. This cereal just disappointed, I’m glad it was on sale when I bought it, but I will not be buying this product again.

Yes, they are quite chewy, but if they were made softer, like “Craisins”, I doubt I’d continue to purchase this product. The toughness gives my teeth a workout and makes me feel fuller, ultimately. It’s a heartier bowl. Also, sorry for my lack of comprehension, but what is so offensive about Optimum “Zen”? Is it the “appropriation” of the Zen Buddhist philosophy for commercial gain? I actually loved the name, didn’t think it warranted a change!

My wife and I just bought this cereal for the first time. I have to say that on the one hand the cereal tastes delicious. On the other hand, the dried cranberries are so dry and chewy to be nearly inedible. I don’t know if it was just our box or product-wide. As tasty as this product is, I’m not sure anything is worth the risk of losing a filling. :-)

I can no longer find this (Cranberry Ginger) cereal at supermarkets in (south) New Jersey. I would mostly buy it at Wegmans and no one there seems to no why it’s no longer on the shelf ,although other cold cereals of yours are still. HELP, need my fix! It’s nice to see someone who takes their grains seriously! This cereal is not 100% whole grain. The whole grain ingredients in this product are: Organic brown rice flour, organic rolled oats, organic whole wheat meal, organic whole oat flour, organic whole millet, organic quinoa, organic buckwheat flour and organic barley flour. Is this the same as what was Optimum Zen? I get your cereal mail order, I’ve always gotten the Optimum Zen, and today Cranberry Ginger showed up instead. There was not explanation from the retailer as to why there was a substitution of what I have on order.
