Hi there— I see in one of your answers to a previous comment that you take a lot of precautions to prevent common allergen cross-contamination—that’s great! Do you take the same precautions with flax seed ? My son is allergic to flax and I see you have lots of cereals with flax. In particular, I wanted to use the crispy rice cereal. If you clean well between each cereal, even if it doesn’t have a top or common allergen in it, it’s probably safe for him. Thank you!

Hi Laura and thanks for sharing and asking us your question. At this time, flax is not considered an allergen, so a warning statement will not appear on the packaging concerning flax seeds. Please note that this cereal does share equipment that comes into contact with flax seeds, so unfortunately there is the possiblity of cross contamination. Take care, Justine, Nature’s Path Team

Hi Megan and thanks for asking us this. Yes, our Crispy Rice Cereal is vegan. All of our products are vegetarian with most being vegan. My wife is gluten intolerant and has been for the past 12 years. I try to be my wifes poison-free chef. I like a challenge. One night I took your cereal, crushed it in a zip-lock bag. I took chicken breast tenders,a little milk wash, egg wash, coat with the crushed cereal seasoned to our taste (salt, pepp, garlic and onion powder) and a little saute in the pan. She went crazy for the crunch that she has missed for so long. All these years later I haven’t poisoned her yet!

Hi John and thanks for sharing your awesome recipe. It sounds delicious! I should pass this along to my gluten-free friends! Perhaps it would work as a vegetarian recipe to make tofu nuggets? And I wonder if this recipe could substitute Crispy Rice Cereal for our gluten-free flakes cereals such as Honey’d Corn Flakes or Mesa Sunrise? Anyways, we’re so glad to hear we helped facilitate a delicious gluten-free supper for your wife. You’re her gluten-free top chef! All the best, Justine, Nature’s Path Team.

I am very interested in your products, as I am a dietitian and am always looking for healty alternatives for my clients. I would like to know if you have any products that are peanut free, my son and some of my clients have this allergy and I would love to recommend your products.

Hi Sarah and thanks for reaching out to us! Any product of ours that doesn’t have peanuts as a listed ingredient is theoretically peanut-free, however oftentimes you’ll see after the ingredients list it’ll say “Produced in a facility that uses …..(peanuts, tree nuts, dairy or soy)”. This is because of the small chance of cross-contamination at the facility. We have an extensive planning and cleaning schedule -which includes protein testing- for all our production facilities in order to prevent any cross contamination of our products with non-declared ingredients, but we still like to give you all the info so you can make a truly informed decision. Hope that helps! Take care, Justine, Nature’s Path Team
For this cereal do you puff
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on September 12, 2011 - 20:53.
For this cereal do you puff up/blow up the rice kernels? How healthy is that? How do you manufacture the crispy rice? Please let me know I want to know all about it because our WHS consumers want to know, and we need to give the answers!
Hi there and thanks for

Hi there and thanks for getting in touch with us! For our puffed cereals, these are made similarly to how you’d pop popcorn on the stovetop where heat is used to explode and cook the kernel. We feel our puffed cereals are veyr healthy and are the purest form of cereal, as they contain only one ingredient; whole organic grains. How we puff them is as follows: We use a process called gun-puffing, which uses steam pressure and high heat to puff and dry the cereal. What happens is we cook the grain by exploding the kernels under high pressure and steam. Then, cooked cereal moves from the drying ovens by conveyor belt and after that it enters a cooling tower, where a heat exchanger cools the cereal and removes almost all moisture before loading it into a hopper for packaging. All the best, Justine, Nature’s Path Team.

Hi Amy and thanks for getting in touch with us. I have a friend who is allergic to the same things and it is so difficult for her that she makes most of her own meals. I’m also sorry, but at this time, we don’t have any products that are free of these ingredients. I will forward your request to our R&D team so they can look into it further.
