Sustainability

“Always leave the soil better than you found it.”

It’s something Arran’s father used to say often while they worked side-by-side on the family farm, and the idea has become our guiding principle. We take this idea under consideration in every aspect of our business, as we travel our own path to sustainability.

Sustainability and Nature’s Path

How do we do this in the day-to-day? We source our ingredients from organic farms, we’re buying up farmland and converting it to organic, and we’re trying to run our business with the health of the soil in mind at every step. Meanwhile, we’ve reduced the amount of paper in our packages, we compost like crazy, and even have an experimental green roof at our headquarters. We’re on the path to being zero-waste certified by 2010, and completely carbon neutral by 2020. Plus, Nature’s Path was one of the first companies to sign onto the Declaration of Sustainability. The Declaration is an 11-point action plan that was created for the organic food trade to move toward more sustainable business models.
