More than 35 years before you could buy an organic apple pretty much anywhere, Arran and a business partner opened LifeStream®, Canada’s first large organic supermarket. Their mission was to sell delicious, wholesome foods grown and processed in harmony with nature, and pretty soon they started making things too. The company’s first organic product was stone-ground organic whole wheat flour, milled daily on-site. Another first product was a line of sprouted Essene Breads®, made according to an ancient recipe. They also dabbled in nut-butters, energy bars, alfalfa sprouts—and cereal.
